At Confluence Community, we’re reimagining leadership. Instead of a traditional top-down board structure, we embrace a collaborative model—one built on shared decision-making, creativity, and meaningful partnerships. We are not just building an organization, we’re experimenting with, and creating a new way of working together. People thrive in spaces where they feel seen, valued, and empowered. Too often, traditional work structures limit creativity, prioritize profit over purpose, and leave little room for individuals to express themselves fully. We want to change that! This is a space for collaboration over competition, creativity over conformity, and purpose over profit. We are reimagining what it means to work together by creating an inclusive, accessible, and growth-driven environment where every person has the chance to contribute in a way that feels meaningful to them. We see people as creative individuals, not roles to be filled. Whether you are an artist, strategist, educator, storyteller, or advocate, your voice matters here. This is a place where you can find your voice, share your ideas, and be part of something built with intention and care. We also recognize that the way we work needs to evolve. Capitalist structures often undervalue human potential, creativity, and well-being. Instead of forcing people into rigid job titles and hierarchies, we are designing a collaborative, co-led structure that adapts to the people within it—bringing out their best selves rather than burning them out. This is a space where passionate changemakers, creative minds, and community-driven leaders come together to shape something bigger than themselves. No one person is "in charge"—we co-create, share responsibilities, and make decisions together. Our work is built on passion, purpose, and the philosophy that real growth happens through collaboration. As we grow, we will also evolve—bringing in projects, funding, and opportunities that financially support those who help build this vision. We are currently community-driven, fueled by our creativity, and the belief that we are building something that supports people more mindfully and compassionately. How It Works Instead of rigid titles and hierarchies, we work in collaborative circles that guide different aspects of our mission. Each circle has co-leads who share responsibilities, work together, and make decisions collectively. • Community & Partnerships Circle – Build relationships with nonprofits, small businesses, and mission-driven organizations. • Creative & Communications Circle – Shape branding, storytelling, content creation, and digital presence. • Education & Learning Circle – Develops workshops, courses, and skill-building opportunities. • Environmental & Sustainability Circle – Guides eco-conscious initiatives and projects, and helps implement sustainable practices in all aspects of what we do. • Finance & Development Circle – Lays the foundation for future financial sustainability and funding opportunities. Do we have designated roles and responsibilities? Yes, for those that need specific levels of structure and clarity, we are here to provide that, and operate in an organized way. We are also here to provide flexibility in professional exploration and allow those that don't want to feel limited by titles or structure, to discover how they can participate.
